Consultant Psychological Therapist, Band 8c Permanent Part Time: 30 hours per week

This highly valued role is key in leading the delivery of timely and effective psychological assessments, interventions and therapy to people experiencing significant psychosis and bi polar disorder in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The role would suit an experienced clinician who is able to lead, inspire and manage the psychological practice within the ICMP (Intensive case management for psychosis) service and the CMRHES (Community rehabilitation and enablement service ).

Main duties of the job

The specialty comprises qualified and pre-qualified clinical and counselling psychologists who offer a range of treatments specialising in families and systems interventions supported by a Consultant Systemic Psychotherapist , other CBT and group based programmes and psychometric assessment for clients with cognitive impairment . The role is well supported both by operational managers and by professional leads. It is a particularly exciting time as the Mental Health Transformation agenda means there is significant scope and support for review and development of practice in the service.

This role would work in partnership with a strong and well-respected professional leadership structure which includes senior colleagues both within the community mental health directorate (including good peer support from Consultant Lead Psychologists in the ICMP service in the London Boroughs of Bromley and Bexley) but also across the Trust. Oxleas is the first London Trust to establish multi-professional Approved Clinicians and applications from candidates interested in AC training would be very welcome. Oxleas has a clear commitment to support and develop staff in their roles and so training and development is generally well supported. It is also committed to the provision of Psychological Therapies with the Director of Therapies, Neil Springham, being an Art Therapist and holding a Board level decision-making role so that psychological therapies remaining central to the Trusts work.
