AWP Trust is pleased to offer this very exciting opportunity to join a Multi-Centre research team for a trial called Sleeping Better . This is a Wellcome Trust-funded research programme with two linked randomised control trials treating sleep psychologically.
You should bepassionate and committed to developing psychological approaches for people with early stages of psychosisthat make it hard for them to get on with their lives. This position would suite clinicians with an interest in cognitive therapy, treatment innovation and clinical trials.
The position is open to individuals with a Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology or Psychological Therapist background, ideally with experience of research. As well as working closely within the Sleeping Better Team with colleagues at University of Oxford, you will receive excellent support and input from more senior and well established members of the BANES psychological therapies team (PTS) as you will be co-located within this team. There will be opportunities for regular connection to the wider PTS, including opportunities for continuing professional development and development of innovative research projects.

You will be responsible for AWP's involvement in the Sleeping Better trial determining whether the sleep problems of many patients at the early stages of psychosis can be successfully treated.
The post holder will have a central role in the trial, being responsible for the day-to-day delivery of Sleeping Better in AWP. This will include delivering Psychological Therapy, supervising research assistants, recruiting and conducting assessments with participants and supervising other clinicians in the delivery of the intervention.About us

They should have the ability to organise and manage multiple interlinked components of the project and their work. You will need to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and be able to conduct interviews, assessment and treatment with potentially vulnerable individuals. Most importantly, you will need to be enthusiastic about the research area and have a high level of motivation and commitment.
The post holder will be located with the AWP Principle Investigator (Dr Kate Chapman) at Bath NHS House (Bath) and linking closely with the Trust's Research and Development Team (Bristol). You will be required to travel throughout the Trust in order to recruit to the trial. - Doctoral Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology qualification or relevant clinical qualification
- Eligible for Chartered Psychologist status (if applicable)
- Evidence based therapeutic interventions with client group

- Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the specialism. Ability to use this knowledge to think systemically/ organizationally
- Extensive experience of risk assessment and risk management
