We are currently looking for highly motivated, and innovative Band 5 Psychiatric Nurse, Mental Health Social Workers or Occupational Therapist to join our CMHT. Teign Core Mental Health Team are a dynamic, nurturing and supportive team where there is excellent peer support and opportunity for development. You will have a reasonably sized caseload and will also support our assessment function as well. You will be involved in training, mentoring, and supervising new and unregistered staff as well as providing front-line clinical care, as well as working alongside our colleagues in primary care and the VCSE

Main duties of the job

Teign Core Mental Health Team provides compassionate, kind and recovery-focused care to our patients, carers and their families. You will need to be able to work autonomously in the community and use your own initiative. The successful candidates will have sound clinical skills, with a desire to continue their development as the team grows. You will also need good assessment and communication skills. There will be lots of shadowing/training opportunities to help you develop in the role and you will need to work alongside other agencies to promote holistic recovery-focused care.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will deliver high-quality mental health services, The role involves managing a defined caseload. The focus will be providing continuous assessment and treatment to people with mental health difficulties and their carers. This will include working as the lead professional with your allocated caseload and liaison with statutory and non-statutory organisations. The post holder will be an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.

Essential

  • Experience working within a mental health team either ward-based or community based
  • Experience in dealing with vulnerable patients


Desirable

  • Managing a caseload of clients with a range of mental health problems.
  • Working within a community setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector.
  • Providing clinical supervision.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment


Qualifications

Essential

  • An appropriate professional mental health qualification eg RMN, OT or social worker.


Desirable

  • Training to level 2 in Safeguarding children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff
