We are looking for someone like you to be the Unit Manager within our Learning Disabilities Inpatient Male Unit based at Hallam Street Hospital. This is a 14 bedded forensic locked rehabilitation unit which at present also accommodates patients from the Assessment and Treatment pathway.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be able to lead a team, and promote an environment where the quality of care is delivered confidently and consistently to a high standard, ensuring all CQC quality standards are met. You will need to be a compassionate leader who is also able to meet targets and deadlines. Sound knowledge of the mental health act and of forensic care and assessment and treatment pathways are required. As a budget manager you will be required to manage resources within the allocated budget. This exciting and dynamic role will allow you to work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to promote the Trust Values and deliver best practice that will be beneficial to patients, staff and carers. The team and service development will remain high on the agenda and as Unit Manager maintaining and monitoring staff compliance with training and ensuring support for students and new staff members is imperative. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate sensitivity towards those who have Learning Disabilities and have complex health needs. They should actively seek to promote a therapeutic environment where both patients and staff feel safe, privacy and dignity is upheld and health and safety standards are adhered to.

Job description Job responsibilities Operationally manage ward-based functions in Learning Disability inpatient team in accordance with Trust values, to deliver effective, efficient and highquality services for people with learning disabilities and their families/carers. Work in conjunction with the, Service Manager, General Manager, Head of Nursing, Clinical Director and Professional Leads to develop and deliver safeand effective services, in accordance with key national targets, clinical standards, service priorities and performance indicators set by localcommissioners and Trust policies. Work in partnership with other professionals to provide multi-agency servicesthat achieve the best possible outcomes for people with Learning Disabilities. The post holder will support and oversee operational delivery of the team andward functions; they will be required to work autonomously in order to address issues impacting on clinical care, quality, service delivery, with overall supportand strategic direction from the Clinical and Operational Leads and Directorate.
