Are you a dedicated and highly motivated Psychological Practitioner who is passionate about providing and maintaining high quality standards and compassionate psychological care? Are you ready to step into a Consultant-level post to lead and develop our expanding services?
We are excited to be recruiting foraConsultantClinical/Counselling Psychologist or Equivalent Applied Psychological Practitioner to lead psychological services in our South Adult Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) across Birmingham and Solihull. Wewelcomeapplicants from Clinical/Counselling Psychology and also Applied Psychological Professionswhoare ready and able to step into a Consultant-level postandmeet the person specification.Youwill be part ofourmulti-professional senior leadership team and will be at the forefront of influencing strategic and clinical planning in Integrated Community Care and Recovery Services (ICCR) and Community Transformation in BSMHFT.You will also join our expanding group of Consultant Psychological Professions within ICCR who are all working together to provide leadership for the best possible compassionate and inclusive psychological care for our service users, their families, carers and our diverse communities.
Main duties of the job
Youwill report professionally to the Trust Chief Psychologist, or delegated lead, and will work alongside associate operational and clinical directors.We will support youtowork clinicallyon a sessional basis.Our Psychological Practitioners are encouraged to participate inresearch and teaching related activitiesandwehave close links to higher education institutionsacrossthe Midlands.Our Trust is also supportive of widerprofessional leadership rolessuch as quality improving service user outcomes and experiences, improving mental health wellbeing and working with communities. You will also be part of our Psychological Professionals Advisory Committee in the Trust, to support the growth, leadership and diversity of our expanding Psychological Professionals workforce. We are committed to developing yourleadership skills andsupporting you to be the Psychological Professions leader that you want to be.
The post is 0.8plus additional psychology on-call responsibilitiesto support our Trust's out of hours business continuity plans.Please do contact us if you are looking to discuss other flexible or additionalpart-timeoptions.The post will be based at a South Trust base (to be confirmed) but will require flexibility to travel. Some working from home will be possible, dependent in part on Covid restrictions. It is intended currently to interview face toface.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- Qualifications for Clinical/Counselling Psychology or equivalent psychological practitioner training
- Post-graduate training in one or more psychological therapy training
- Considerable experience of working as a qualified clinical/counselling psychologist, or equivalent psychological applied practice, including post qualification experience in the designated function with which this post is concerned.
- Experience of the professional management of qualified and pre-qualified clinical/counselling, psychological therapists and psychologists, Psychology Assistants, graduate and undergraduate students and other grades of staff within a psychological service.
- Experience in utilising clinical/counselling psychology/psychological models in different cultural contexts.
- Experience in leadership in utilising clinical/counselling psychology/psychological models in different cultural contexts.
