Job Title: Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) Manager and Supervisor

Base: Negotiable (Lincoln, Grantham, Boston, Louth)

Due to significant investments in our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and in local Mental Health Support Teams, (MHST’s), we are excited to be able to advertise a newly created CBT Therapist Manager and Supervisor role within Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s (LPFT) Services for Children and Young People (CYP Services).

We are looking to recruit a very experienced and highly motivated and organised CBT Therapist Manager and Supervisor to oversee the provision of CBT informed therapies across LPFT’s CYP Services and to be the line manager for our ever increasing number of CBT Therapists and Supervisors within our CYP Services.
In recent years our CYP Services have seen CBT Therapists posts increase from 2 wte posts to 7 wte posts by January 2023. We have CBT Therapist time allocated to all elements of our CYP Services – CAMHS; Healthy Minds Lincolnshire (HML); Mental Health Support Teams within schools.

The CBT Manager and Supervisor will offer CBT input to 1 of our 4 core CAMHS hubs, (Lincoln, Grantham, Boston, Louth depending on successful applicant’s preference), aswell as line manage all the CBT Therapists and Supervisors within our CYP Services. The person will also be responsible for the line management of 2 “Training Leads” to ensure that we have a clear group therapy offer across all our CYP Services. These groups are CBT informed groups for children and young people; for parents and carers.

The successful applicant will need to have extensive experience of working in a CAMHS setting and will need to evidence strong leadership skills and innovative practice. They will be supporting all CYP Services staff to be able to provide CBT informed interventions (group and individual) and will ensure interventions offered are evaluated and Routine Outcome Measures are used as standard by staff. The postholder will ensure that feedback from service users is incorporated into service maintenance and development.

CAMHS
LPFT CAMHS is a specialist multi disciplinary service which offers assessment and therapeutic interventions to children and young people who present with complex mental health problems as well as to children and young people who have been victims of trauma; victims of abuse. The service is very well established and is staffed with clinical psychologists, child psychiatrists, mental health practitioners (qualified nurses, social workers and occupational therapists); specialist therapists including CBT therapists; systemic psychotherapists, and art therapist; assistant practitioners and assistant psychologists; Peer Support Workers and Parent Peer Support Workers.

LPFT’s Community Core CAMHS has achieved an “Outstanding” rating from the CQC 2 years in a row and it is actively involved in service developments which include - operating flexible opening times; provision of a 24 hours, 7 days a week CAMHS Crisis and Enhanced Treatment Service; provision of a Specialist Eating Disorder Service for Children and Young People.

MHST’s
Mental Health Support Teams are jointly delivered by NHS and Department of Education and Lincolnshire currently has 4 MHST’s with a further 3 to be developed by January 2023.
MHST staff provide early interventions for mild to moderate mental health and emotional well being issues, such as anxiety, behavioural difficulties or friendship issues, as well as providing help to staff in a school or college setting. The teams act as a link with CAMHS and the CBT Therapists and Supervisors provide the CBT supervision to the MHST staff during and following completion of the 1 year CBT training and 1 year EMHP training which take place during the first year of the MHST’s being established.

HML
The Healthy Minds Lincolnshire Service delivers early and preventative mental health interventions for children, young people and their families by:

Providing training and support to universal services, particularly schools to enable staff to have the skills and confidence to manage the emotional wellbeing needs of the children and young people in their care.

Providing individual and group work for children and young people and their families/carers using evidence based brief therapeutic tools and models

Offering consultation, advice and signposting that will ensure, where appropriate children, young people and their families are referred to services that will meet identified needs.

Training and supervision
The CBT Manager and Supervisor will oversee an annual training plan provided to CYP staff and will co facilitate training for staff as appropriate. The postholder will also ensure there is access to individual, peer and group supervision for all staff trained in different levels of CBT. In turn the postholder will access line management and clinical supervision relevant to their professional qualification and managerial role.

There will be a mix of working from home using video platforms and face to face working.
and the successful applicant will need to be able to travel between sites within this large rural county.
