This is a great opportunity to gain experience and achieve a Level 2 Modern Apprentice qualification in Clinical Health Care.

You will receive a comprehensive induction, formal training and you will be provided with the support and guidance that you need to achieve success!

You will need to be dedicated to completing the NVQ/QCF L2 Apprenticeship in Clinical Health Care for up to 18 months and have an interest in the Health Service.

Please note: The Assessment Centres will be held on 15th January 2024. Interviews to follow in the same week.


Main duties of the job

Summary of the job

Firstly approximately 50% of the time will be spent within our specialist manufacturing facility where you will learn the art & science of Orthotic manufacture - Orthotics are used in the management of Musculoskeletal conditions by helping to realign and support joints within our bodies.

The remaining 50% will be spent working within the clinical environment where you will learn & develop the skills of a health care support worker by supporting the specialist musculoskeletal clinical teams.

As an apprentice support worker you will:
  • Earn a salary while studying
  • Gain job specific skills, knowledge ad behaviours
  • Have regular pastoral support and personal development reviews
  • Support to achieve the core competency requirements of the role
  • Gain experience within the NHS and understand the structure and different services delivered to our local community.

You will be helping to provide a first class administration service to members of the public, patients and colleagues across the Health Board.

Apprentices will be paid at 70% of the top of Band 2 Grade

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Good general standard of education GSCE's in English and Maths A-E (or equivalent qualification)



  • Some understanding/interest of the Health Care apprenticeship role



  • Articulate with good interpersonal and listening skills
  • Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions to complete assigned tasks
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads


  • Able to speak Welsh
