The Operational Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Homeless Hub services. They will achieve this through effective management and oversight of performance, finance and the workforce.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership and operational management to a number of the homeless hub services and provide direction for staff in maintaining clinical and non-clinical standards of care and in implementing service improvements. This includes ensuring that Care Quality Commission (CQC) essential standards are met and exceeded. The post holder will be visible and accessible to staff and service users acting as a role model and champion for recovery and change.
The post holder will be responsible for providing professional and managerial leadership for identified staff members and will provide assistance, advice and support to team members ensuring that care is delivered to the highest standard and that service users and carers remain central to all aspects of service delivery.
The post holder will deputise for the Service Manager on occasion and provide cover in their absence, reporting through to the Head of Operations.
The post holder will respect the individuality, values, culture and religious diversity of service users, carers, and colleagues and contribute to the provision of a service that is sensitive to these needs.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the operational management and clinical leadership of services within designated area of responsibility.
To provide effective line management for identified staff members/ work streams within the service while promoting a positive and therapeutic culture at all times.
The post holder will display high level communication and relationship skills, being able to negotiate with senior and junior team members and motivate, reassure and lead teams in a positive way and manner and at all times.
Ensure that human resources are efficiently deployed within identified areas and to be responsible for recruitment and retention within designated areas of responsibility.
To work closely with partner organisations to ensure high quality delivery of services.
Responsible for overseeing budgets, ensuring appropriate management and control is in place and expenditure is within agreed limits in order to achieve budgetary balance.
In conjunction with the relevant HR staff, develop strategies to ensure the teams achieve a workforce capable of delivering quality recovery focused services and that the workforce is competent, confident and safe in the delivery of patient/service user treatment options in order to maximise recovery outcomes.

- Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Extensive experience of working in a Recovery focused inpatient setting in a leadership / managerial position.
- Evidence of post registration or further professional development in the relevant field.
- A leadership / Management Qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Experience of working with service users in the health/ social care field which must include inpatient services
- Experience of actively working as part of a MDT in order to achieve shared goal. Experience of leading on, implementing and monitoring a service development/change initiative.
- Experience of managing staff performance and disciplinary issues efficiently.
- Experience of maintaining quality standards in one's own work and encouraging others to do so in theirs.
- Experience of commitment to service user involvement.
