Community Enhanced Wound Care Nurse

Band 5 increasing to Band 6 following completion of competencies

An exciting opportunity has arisen working within the Andover and Winchester Rural North Integrated Community Care team (ICT) for an Enhanced Wound Care Nurse

We are seeking to expand and recruit an additional full time Band 5 trainee specialist nurse, working towards the role of becoming a Band 6 on completion of competencies. We would also welcome applications from current Band 6's who fully meet all criteria and competencies

You will be working under the supervision of Clinical Nurse Specialists in Tissue Viability. You will receive support to complete a range of competency based assessments.

Main duties of the job

Your main role will be working within the wound clinic in Andover where you will be responsible for the management of complex wounds and leg ulcers to name a few. You will also work alongside our current EWCN to assist the ICT, to support registered and unregistered staff to achieve competence, skill and experience with Tissue Viability and team management

You will be expected to maintain clinical skills and competence, you will have the ability to work unsupervised, have excellent communication skills and the interest and enthusiasm to promote best practice in tissue viability. As a team player, you will be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a customer focused approach.
