We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse to join the Urology nursing team as a Urology Nurse Practitioner. We are looking for a nurse with Urology experience who has the ability to work autonomously, team player and be able to prioritise workload ensuring effective management and clinical skills.
The post holder will play a crucial role in care and management of Urological patients with benign conditions, suspected and proven Urological cancers. The Nurse practitioner will work within a large team consisting of Urology ACPs and Nurse specialists based in the Urology centre.

Job responsibilities
WHAT YOULL DO
Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with urological issues, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering relevant diagnostic tests.
Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the medical team to diagnose urological conditions and develop treatment plans. This may include ordering diagnostic tests and recommending surgical interventions when necessary.
Patient Education: Provide education to patients and their families about urological conditions, treatment options, and post-treatment care. Ensure that patients understand their diagnoses and are actively involved in their care plans.
Follow-up Care: Monitor and manage the ongoing care of patients with urological conditions. This includes assessing treatment effectiveness, managing side effects of medications, and coordinating follow-up appointments.
Once training and competence is achieved, you will undertake clinical skills that include male and female urinary catheter insertion, administration of intravesical medication, provision of Nurse led one stop diagnostic services including Flexible cystoscopy, Urodynamics and nurse led bladder cancer cystoscopy surveillance.
Procedures and Interventions: Perform certain medical procedures and interventions within the scope of practice.
Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including urologists, nurses, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
There will be opportunities to work in Lymington hospital, providing nurse led cystoscopy clinics.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR Registered Nurse (RN) with completion of Nursing degree Experience in urology. Knowledge of urological conditions, treatments, and interventions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to continuous professional development.
