The postholder is one of a team of specialist diabetes dietitians providing a highly specialised dietetic service within the multidisciplinary diabetes services at King's. The Denmark Hill site serves a population of people living with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes in a mainly outpatient setting. Clinical care is now provided via both telemedicine and face-to face in 1:1 and group settings (including newly diagnosed groups, carbohydrate counting education and DAFNE).
Main duties of the job
This 0.6wte post will predominantly lead the transition diabetes and young adult dietetic services within the multidisciplinary adult and paediatric diabetes teams. The post holder will oversee the provision of a collaborative and comprehensive care pathway bridging our paediatric and adult multidisciplinary diabetes services. This post will also provide support to the adult diabetes services including regular provision to our DAFNE courses and occasional support to our antenatal diabetes service.
This post supports the adult multidisciplinary diabetes team, contribution to a collaborative and comprehensive pathway of care including provision of DAFNE courses. The postholder will take responsibility for planning and providing diabetes dietetic care to DAFNE training, Type 1 Diabetes and antenatal diabetes services.

- HCPC registered (Dietitian)
- Postgraduate experience of working in diabetes
- DAFNE trained or similar type 1 diabetes structured education programme
- Ability to work as part of a team, identifying and leading on service change
- Able to maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders
Desirable
- A recognised and appropriate postgraduate diabetes course
- Member of the BDA Diabetes Specialist Group (DSG)
