An exciting opportunity has become available at Eastbourne Critical Care Unit for a Band 7 Practice Educator to support and develop staff educational needs.
You will need to demonstrate excellent clinical, leadership, teaching and communication skills.
A keen interest in education and teaching is essential to fulfil this post.
You will need to have completed the critical care pathway or equivalent and have at least two years experience in an ITU setting as a Band 6.
Critical care currently has currently 5 level 3 beds and 3 level 2 beds. We work closely with our sister site at Conquest , Hastings District General Hospital which currently has11 beds and plans to extend .Main duties of the job
To delegate, co-ordinate and supervise all education on the Unit.
To provide expert tuition, support and guidance for nursing, medics and other members of the multidisciplinary team working with the critically ill patient.
To assess learning needs required by staff to enable them to fulfil their role in the Critical Care, in line with the Unit's planned service provision.
To develop, implement, organise and evaluate learning resources/competencies and other staff development programmes in order to meet the Units and individuals learning needs.
To monitor staff's compliance with all training requirements and to maintain appropriate documentation on staff progress and achievements.
