We are seeking a passionate, innovative and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our Childrens Speech and Language therapy team covering West Cumbria, on a permanent basis.
Working as part of an integrated team with other specialist therapists, you will be required to provide assessment, advice and therapy to children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs, working with them, their families and supporting agencies.Main duties of the job
You should have a degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, be registered with HCPC, and have ongoing membership with the RCSLT. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering high standards of care in the heart of the community.

- Ability to use analytical and judgement skills, involving information, which requires analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options, in order to diagnose, treat and formulate solutions to a range of communication disorders
- Ability to use highly developed communication skills for communicating and understanding complex, sensitive and contentious information in a verbal or written form where they may be significant barriers to acceptance and understanding which need to be overcome, using negotiation, influencing, persuasive, empathic or reassurance skills e.g. negotiating with or motivating carers/relatives and patients sensitive communication of condition related news, providing counselling and reassurance managing disagreements or conflicts about client's management generating and negotiating solutions in complex and emotional situations dealing with confrontational individuals and/or agencies.
