Newham Talking Therapies (NTT), Centre for Clinical Excellence is looking to recruit qualified high intensity therapist or experienced PWP to join a high performing and creative team. We are part of East London NHS Foundation Trust which has been rated Outstanding for the second year by Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are committed to ensuring a healthy work life balance and a positive working environment. Our trust values are: we care, we respect and we are inclusive. Newham have been involved in the development of PWP roles and were part of the initial IAPT pilot in 2008.

NTT is an exceptional talking therapies service with excellent development opportunities. We are committed to the progression of our team members and our posts are formulated to allow for development of clinical expertise in chosen clinical areas. As well as offering a range of therapies, the service also runs as a training centre, therefore offering opportunities for supervision and training.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified high intensity therapist or experienced PWP who has a strong background in delivering PWP interventions. Applicant should come with experience of delivering clinical supervision and case management to PWPs and should be committed to supporting the professional development of PWPs.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service and will deliver assessments and evidence based Guided Self Help and/ or High Intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions to adult clients with a range of anxiety and depression related problems, both on an individual and group basis.

We have recently re-designed our service to further integrate our high and low intensity teams, to support the professional development of the PWP team, and to enhance the operational management in order to develop the service and efficiently meet monthly targets.

About us

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations

Job description Job responsibilities

The post offers opportunities to work creatively in designing interventions of the highest clinical quality and to work with a range of professionals from different therapeutic backgrounds. Working as part of Newham Talking Therapies offers numerous opportunities for learning and development through strong team support and clinical supervision and being part of an evolving, integrating team. The service has expanded its workshops programs, therefore offering the chance to develop group skills and work alongside colleagues to deliver innovative treatment programs. A keen interest or prior experience in delivering therapy in a group format would be greatly valued.

Due to diverse populations in Newham, this is a unique opportunity to work with adult clients from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. The post will include triage and assessment as well as delivery of CBT interventions at Step 2 and/or Step 3.

This post is offered as a full-time permanent post, with the expectation that all clinical staff work one late evening per week (12pm until 8pm). We currently offer blended working; working from both home and from the office. This is subject to change in line with service needs.
