Our services

We provide a comprehensive range of services including in the community and hospital settings: talking therapies, mental health servicesfor adults, children and adolescents, drug and alcohol, learning disability,eating disorder, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorderclinic, forensic and other mental health.

The Community Mental Health Team for Older People (CMHTOP) service provides assessment and treatment for functional illnesses and an assessment service for all patients aged over and under 65 with memory problems. There is an independent Young Onset Dementia service that works closely with CMHTOP for managing complex cases. Our Care Home Pathway Team was awarded best older adults service in the country by Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2020.The teamis at the forefront of the national drive towards integration of community services and works in partnership with community services, social care, primary care, and the voluntary sector and provides seamless support to older residents.

About the role

This appointment is for a full-time substantive Consultant Psychiatrist (10 PA's) who will be responsible for providing input to the Mid and East CMHTOP Care Home Pathway of Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. teams.

Referrals received predominantly from local General Practitioners in line with the current service specification. Post holder will cover care homes in the two CMHTOP sectors.

About you

You will have:
  • A recognised basic Medical Degree and MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Full Medical Registration (GMC) with a Licence to Practice
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or CCT in appropriate specialty (or within 6 months at time of Interview/Assessment) or equivalent
  • Approved Clinician Status and approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act
  • Management qualification or evidence of an interest in developing leadership skills
