This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative Dietitian to join our well established multi-disciplinary Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities. This is a diverse role, where you will be working mostly with nutritional support and weight management, with the opportunity to work 1:1 or with groups. It will include close working with Speech and Language Therapy colleagues. In addition, you will have peer supervision with a learning disabilities dietitian and peer support from a small group of mental health dietitians. Regular CPD both internal and external is encouraged, and there are good leadership opportunities within the Trust. We also support dietetic students from the University of Surrey.
You will be working in a thriving multi-disciplinary team which promotes the use of the broad range of skills acquired through experience and ongoing training. We are looking for a Dietitian who preferably has experience of working with people with learning disabilities and additional mental health needs. However, we are mainly interested to find people who share our core values and expertise within the culture of this innovative service.
The community team has embraced the five functions identified for CTPLDs. The post holder will work to ensure that people with Learning Disabilities are able to access mainstream services with reasonable adjustments, alongside delivering comprehensive dietetic assessments and evidence-based interventions.
This varied and exciting post covers a wide geographical area across West Surrey, and flexible working across our two bases in Aldershot and Guildford. The successful applicant’s preferences will be taken into account when choosing which base will used for travel purposes. Due to the travel involved, we can only welcome applications from people with a current valid driving license who have access to a vehicle for work-related purposes.
