The role of the Computer Vision Scientist is to carry out the assessment, data acquisition, data processing and data analysis (principally statistical shape modelling and image analysis) of patients referred to the Craniofacial service, Alder Hey, with craniofacial disorders due to conditions described in service specification EL(98)(1) ie craniosynostosis, craniosynostosis syndromes, encephalocoeles and orbital dystopia. In addition, image analysis for patients with other craniofacial deformity out with the standard service specification.

The post holder will work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary craniofacial team in providing timely statistical shape modelling data on an individual patient basis and in a format that can be viewed on PACS in order to inform clinical decision making and analysis of outcomes.

Main duties of the job

The role will require the post holder to be involved in the assessment, data acquisition, processing and analysis for patients who are referred to the Craniofacial team. The post holder will be an integral part of the service supporting the multidisciplinary team as well as working with other key partners.

oDegree level qualification and registration with HCPC as a clinical scientist

Essential

  • oDegree level qualification in a related subject
  • oEvidence of understanding of 3D analysis systems
  • oEvidence of understanding of 3D analysis systems
  • oEvidence of advanced knowledge in a scientific scripting or coding language


Desirable

  • oEvidence of participation in research projects
  • oPresentation of research at National/International meeting
