We are searching for an enthusiastic and motivated staff nurse to join our team on Ward B47. We are a specialised ward providing care for elderly frail patients typically over 65 years. Working alongside our physical healthcare colleagues we provide assessment and treatment for people that have a Dementia diagnosis to enable a successful recovery back to the community or supported living environment.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team within an acute medical setting. This role would be of significant interest to a registered mental health nurse with a specific interest in physical and mental healthcare of older adults.

This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of �2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a mental health nurse who is approachable, compassionate and motivated with good communication skills.

Focussing on assessment of need, treatment and recovery, the role will include working alongside both mental health and general nurses, medics and allied health professionals to provide evidence based care aimed at placing the service user and their families at the centre of care planning.

You will have the opportunity to gain further training and experience working as a link nurse specialising in areas such as the Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding. You will also develop skills in areas such as physical healthcare and IV administration to allow you to work confidently and effectively alongside general colleagues.
