An opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated, enthusiastic B7 Audiologist to join our friendly and busy department
As a department we put an emphasis on the development of our staff and regularly send members of our team on external training courses. This vacancy is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in more than just the core audiology work and training is available for staff to develop their interests in Adult Rehabilitation, Tinnitus Retraining Therapy and Vestibular Assessment.
Applications are welcomed from Audiologists nearing completion of their degree course. Candidates would be expected to hold or be able to achieve RCCP registration, BSA membership and or HCPC registration.
Applicants must hold a BSc in Audiology or equivalent qualifications. An MSc or evidence of Post Graduate study preferred. Applicants should also have, or be able to achieve RCCP registration, and membership of BAA while not essential is desirable.
Main duties of the job
We are a busy service providing a range of services including:
Full diagnostic support and rehabilitation services to 7 ENT consultants
Direct Access Hearing Aid Clinics
Balance Assessment Clinics using Caloric & ENG / VNG testing
Vestibular Rehab
Tinnitus clinics
Dedicated paediatric clinics
Research and audit
As a Chief audiologist and senior member of staff you will be responsible for leading our expanding Vestibular service and implant service, which will include working in conjunction with two current ENT otology specialists.
Previous experience is essential in the use of
Vhit, Caloric, VNG, VEMP and clinic assessments of dizzy patients. Confidence in report writing and determining suitable treatments for patients
You would also be expected to oversee training of Students (BSc & MSc) and junior staff.
