• Work with a varied paediatric client group which includes, children and young people (0-19) with Developmental Language Disorder, Dysfluency, Selective Mutism, Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia, Autism Spectrum Condition, Complex Needs, Speech Disorder and Speech and Language delay
• Provide clinical care including assessment, diagnosis and interventions
• Work in schools, pre-schools, clinics, children’s centres and patient homes.

We have full and part time posts available. Vacancies include

• 1 full time post in Bournemouth
• 1 full time post in Christchurch
• 1 full time post in Poole
• 1 full time post in Weymouth and Wareham (West Dorset and Purbecks)
• 1 part time post (3 days per week) in Gillingham and Sturminster Newton (North Dorset)

About us:

The Dorset Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service is seeking enthusiastic, forward thinking, team players to join our friendly and supportive team of speech and language therapists in the beautiful County of Dorset, working for an Outstanding NHS Trust (CQC 2019).

You will receive regular management from your team lead as well as peer and 1:1 clinical supervision. You will have access to a range of clinical lead specialists for advice and guidance. There are excellent opportunities to access formal and informal training. New initiatives are always welcome and taken forward within the context of a Professional Development Group. Dorset Healthcare provide a very comprehensive and fully supported Preceptorship Programme for newly qualified healthcare professionals.

This is an exciting time to join our service as we are working to design a new speech, language and communication pathway for Dorset based on the Balanced System® Framework.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
