We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Imaging Systems IT support team across all three sites and participate in the non residential PACs on call service .
This successful post holder will support the PACS and Radiology IT Systems manager to ensure the efficient running of the imaging IT systems support service, dealing with technical issues and providing managerial support for the clerical support team.
The individual will need to be flexible, focused and meticulous with a positive attitude to change, to assist the PACS and Radiology IT systems manager in steering the diagnostic imaging department through implementation of imaging IT systems to deliver the changes needed for the future developments in imaging.
It is a challenging role for someone who can work under pressure. You will need polished communication skills dealing with queries within and outside the trust.
The ideal candidates must demonstrate a commitment to professional development and show a keen interest in the future of their profession and the Diagnostic Imaging services. They will be expected to support both the service and it's staff in continuing to maintain and develop the highest standards of imaging. The Royal Marsden is the UK's leading comprehensive cancer centre and is recognised worldwide for the quality of its services, research and development of new treatments. The Imaging service exists to provide good quality imaging and support to clinicians in the provision of diagnosis, follow up and treatment planning for their patients. The Imaging department also works within a high quality management system and has been awarded QSI Accreditation by UKAS since 2018
Overview of Post
This is a specialised post supporting all of the existing imaging IT systems within the Trust including the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA).
The post-holder will be responsible for the content, integrity, safe use and security of the imaging IT systems in the clinical environment, working closely with the Trust's IT provider and third party suppliers to maintain effective service delivery.
The post holder will have a key role in supporting the PACS and Radiology IT Systems Manager in projects to integrate new imaging equipment, perform system upgrades and implementation of new imaging IT systems.

Daily monitoring of RIS & PACS system performance and imaging system interfaces.
Initiation of any action to resolve any problems to minimize system downtime.
Ensure housekeeping of systems takes place to maintain required level of data integrity, e.g. correction of unspecified images.
Support all imaging staff in their use of imaging IT systems and be competent to resolve technical issues.
First and second line response to imaging IT incidents reported throughout the Trust.
Use skill, experience and judgment to prioritise reported imaging IT system incidents.
Resolve incidents on complex systems and escalate incidents through appropriate channels if necessary ensuring accurate records of incident management are maintained.
Perform imaging IT system application configuration such as addition of exams codes, set up and maintenance of RIS templates, creation and modification of PACS display protocols and worklists.
Administer user access to the imaging IT systems managing assignment of user permissions.
Assist in the management of all digital imaging transfers.
Support the planning and management of system upgrades, liaising with affected system users, advising users of business continuity procedures during periods of system unavailability.
Testing of new RIS, PACS and other associated imaging IT systems software updates, releases, patches.
Assist and participate with imaging IT and Trust IT projects and manage projects as required by the PACS & Radiology Systems Manager.
Coordinate network configurations for new modality installations.
Participate alongside the Trusts development team in the development and maintenance of interfaces to the imaging IT systems.
Ensure Trust Change Control procedures are adhered to for imaging IT systems.
