Adult and older adult 8B or 8a to 8b Preceptorship Clinical Psychology positions available to support the functioning of state of the art psychiatric inpatient facility in Lancashire.
We require a motivated, dynamic and experienced qualified Clinical Psychologists to join our well established team of Clinical Psychologists offering input to the Harbour inpatient facility at Blackpool within Lancashire Care Foundation Trust. These posts would be inputting into the adult acute wards and older adult wards at the Harbour Hospital in Blackpool. In this role you would be expected to input into complex patients offering direct input, consultation and clinical leadership. As a principal psychologist in the unit there would be expectation for the post holder to deputise for the psychology lead alongside other 8bs in the unit. If taken on as preceptor you would be supported to develop competencies to work fully into a principal clinical psychology role over up to two year period. The expectation would be for the post holder to fully progress via a process of supported development and evaluation to reach the expected level of competency for an 8b psychologist. This would be supported by the 8c psychologist and 8b psychologists already working in the unit.
Main duties of the job
The Harbour is a purpose built psychiatric hospital that opened in 2015. As such it is a modern state of the art unit with excellent facilities for patients. You would be joining a team of clinical psychologists at the Harbour that includes two senior psychologists, three principal psychologists and a consultant psychology lead. We are friendly cohesive team all working in the same building and as such this is a post with lots of peer support and interaction with psychology colleagues. Psychology input at the Harbour is well established and very much appreciated by the wider multidisciplinary teams working here. Assistant psychologists are also employed on a fixed term basis and the post would be required to contribute to professional leadership and operational management of these posts.
