We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Senior CAMHS Practitioner to join the CAMHS service in West Lancs.

The triage, DUTY and Assessment post is a crucial part of the service that ensures young people are guided to the most appropriate service in a timely manner. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide high quality assessment and triage with children, young people and their parents/carers referred to the CAMHS service. We are looking for dynamic and skilled practitioner to help develop this service and improve children and young people's access to help and support. You will contribute to the business aims of the service through joint working, consultation, training, and attending supervision.

Alongside triaging you will also provide duty cover, allowing families, professionals the opportunity for timely advice and guidance regarding suitable local services, urgent/crisis advice, referral advice, reviewing of urgent referrals etc.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited from qualified Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists with a minimum of 18 months experience, working with children and young people with emotional and mental health needs. You may be required to work in various community settings alongside partner providers.

Successful applicants will be required to co-work effectively with colleagues and maintain good clinical records and data collection. The successful candidate must be able to work weekends, bank holidays and unsocial hours as required by the service model although currently the role is Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, with 1 weekend in 6 weeks.

Qualifications

Essential

• First level qualification, RMN or equivalent such as CQSW or occupational therapy
• Information technology skills sufficient to the undertaking of the post.

Knowledge

• An ability to think systemically and holistically.
• Demonstrable Knowledge and skills in evidence based needs led assessments, of highly complex and co-morbid presentations of children, young people, their families and carers.
• Demonstrable Knowledge and skills in evidence based therapeutic interventions relevant to the needs of this client group.
