An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse or AHP with a passion for Patient Safety. This role will manage the Paediatric Patient Safety Team within the Healthy Lives Care Directorate to ensure the effective resolution of directorate incidents, complaints and legal processes. The successful individual will be responsible for promoting a safe, quality and learning culture across the directorate while keeping in mind national requirements and safety drivers that are prevalent for the services within the directorates.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve:
o Promoting a safety and quality culture across the directorate within Peadiatrics, taking a lead in supporting local investigations and responses to incidents.o Co-ordinating and being an effective leader with the patient safety and quality agenda within the directorate and the directorates representative at the Patient Safety Team meetings.o Overseeing effective delivery of the directorate complaints and legal processes working through patient safety coordinators for Paediatricso Promoting learning following patient safety adverse events, complaints and litigation support changes in practices to prevent recurrences.o Leading on the patient safety processes for the directorate to develop, maintain and monitor its process. To co-ordinate and lead the team to provide reports and summaries from national recommendations, and action plans for the directorates and associated meetings within the Trust.o Supporting the integration of the requirements of external reporting. Encourage a research conscious workforce to increase the use of evidence based practices within the directorates.o Collating and analysing information and provide detailed reports to the Directorate.o
