Highly Specialised Inpatient Trauma and Orthopaedic Physiotherapist

Permanent - 37.5 hours per week
Applications are invited from enthusiastic candidates for a Specialist physiotherapist to work within the Hillingdon Trauma and Orthopaedic Team. This post is based at Hillingdon Hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in working within anintegrated therapy team andcontinue to developstrong multidisciplinary working within a dynamic acute setting. There is scope to develop new services and formulate new care pathways for patients within a supportive and friendly department and with our Hillingdon Health Care Partnership.
This post would suit a therapist with extensive acute experience working within an inpatient Orthopaedic setting with both Trauma and Elective patients. The team also cover orthopaedic day cases, inpatient orthopaedic paediatric patients and outpatient adult amputees. Ideally they should have a strong orthopaedic knowledge base, be effective with early walking aids and prosthetic rehabilitation, and have good clinical assessment skills and experience working as an autonomous practitioner as well as part of a team.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will join the existing multi-disciplinary team, and work in conjunction with their therapy team across Medicine, Surgery and Orthopaedics. The post holder will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and stakeholders involved in the provision of integrated care, to ensure joined up care for patients across acute, community and primary and secondary care settings. A collaborative approach ensures a comprehensive patient centered service is provided.
As a senior therapist you will be expected to play an active part in the development of the service and promoting evidence based practice, alongside regular audit and teaching / supportingwithin the department.
We work in operationally integrated therapy teams, and you would be expected to provide leadership for the Orthopaedic Therapy team in conjunction with the Senior Occupational Therapist, and work with the Therapy Team Leads and Inpatient Therapy Manager in continuously developing aspects of the therapy service.

You must be HCPC registered as a Physiotherapist. The ideal candidate will also be a member their professional body. They will be hard working, adaptable, demonstrate initiative and self-motivation and have a commitment to lifelong learning and continuing professional development
THH is classed as a Trauma Unit and linked to St Mary's Hospital the Major Trauma Centre for North West London. As a therapy team, we have an active role within the Trust and the NWL Trauma Rehab Group.
The Trust has recently converted to the CERNER electronic patient notes system in line with our North West London colleagues.
The Trust is committed to supporting our staff with access to services including well-being and employee assistance programs.
We encourage staff to feel able to work without bias and have a Freedom to Speak up Guardian.
