JOINT ADVERT ON BEHALF OF DORSET STROKE AND NEURO SERVICES (Dorset County Hospital and Dorset Healthcare Trusts)
Are you a motivated, dynamic and passionate physiotherapist? Are you inspired to provide excellent rehabilitation for those with stroke and neurological disorders?
We have recently been awarded significant investment in Dorset to develop Stroke and Neuro Services across Dorset to meet the National Stroke Service model published by NHS England last year. Our team expansion includes nursing, social work, neuropsychology and voluntary sector roles, as well as apprentices, rotations across the acute and community pathway and opportunities for advanced practice.
Rotations include:
Contribution to the therapy weekend rotas is expected on a basis of no more than 1:5 weekends.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high quality person centred approach to care delivery which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity.
To provide specialist care and interventions, assessments, treatments and managing patients on a caseload, as part of the wider multi-disciplinary care team.
To provide specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients / service users.
To devise specialist programmes of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure they are delivered appropriately.
To plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings.
Provide supervision, mentorship, training and clinical support to students and trained practitioners.
We would welcome applicants for this band 6 position, or those willing to pursue a band 5-6 accelerator programme over 12-18 months (on completion of competencies). Car driver with car and business use essential. Stroke/ neurological experience required, but most of all we're looking for candidates with a dedication to improvement, a passion for high quality neuro rehabilitation who thrives within a team.

- Hyperacute / acute stroke and neurology (based at Dorset County Hospital)
- Stroke and neurology inpatient rehabilitation (currently based at Yeatman community hospital- Sherborne)
- Integrated Community Stroke (and neurology) Service (ICSS) - including Early Supported Discharge (ESD) and complex rehabilitation and condition management for stroke and neurology. The service covers West and North Dorset
