Main duties of the job

To ensure the operational delivery of targets working supportively with the two Service Managers. This is to include RTT and cancer targets

To ensure rotas are checked against build to ensure all clinics are covered and to maximise utilisation

To monitor the number of referrals and ensure there is adequate cover for theatre and clinics to meet the targets set.

To manage the typing teams and support the admin teams

Job description

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for supporting the pathway coordinators with cancelled clinics, preparation for weekly and monthly capacity meetings ensuring all clinics are cancelled within agreed time frames.

To be responsible for issues arising for un-cashed clinics, including reporting errors and retraining Directorate team members.

To review all treatment status reports, understanding and investigating data errors, retraining team members as necessary.

To support the Service Managers delivering 18 weeks RTT including retraining as necessary. To manage the Gynaecology and Paediatric PTL to prevent breaches while noting and solving capacity issues

To manage routine and cancer clinic typing to ensure delays are rectified

To work with Service Managers to improve DNA utilisation of clinics in Gynaecology and Paediatrics

Establish excellent working relationships with all team members

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Diploma level / Degree Level or specialist work experience at this level


Knowledge

Essential

  • Detailed and specialist knowledge of hospital administrative procedures and working processes
  • Proficient use of hospital computerised patient systems


Experience

Essential

  • Experience or previous knowledge of working with Rotas'
  • Experience and knowledge of patient pathways
  • Experience dealing with routine / urgent and complex problems, progress chasing, reviewing resources

  • Excellent organisational skills, self-motivation, drive for performance and improvement, reliable and flexible in approach and attitude
