You will be a part of an award winning, proactive dietetic department at The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford. As an integral member of the MDT, you will have the opportunity to gain experience and develop your skills in the dietetic management of paediatric patients in a supportive environment with peer supervision and on the job training.
We are looking for someone who has good rapport with patients and staff and has an interest in Paediatrics. You will join our dietetic team at The Royal Surrey County Hospital. The post covers general paediatric inpatient and outpatient work. We need a team player who takes pride in providing an efficient and effective dietetic service. You should have high-level communication skills, be effective in multidisciplinary team working and be able to deliver both group education and individual interventions. You will have the opportunity to be involved in audits and other service development initiatives within the dietetic department.Main duties of the job
You will join a forward thinking dietetic team who focuses on research and audit to promote clinically effective patient care. We also undertake the training of A, B and C placement students. The post holder will provide clinical paediatric dietetic support to inpatients and outpatients, including direct access GP referrals to dietitian led clinics at The Royal Surrey Hospital.
To provide a nutrition and dietetic service for inpatients and outpatients referred for paediatric dietetic support across the Trust. The post holder will work with another specialist paediatric dietitian, to support patients admitted to the paediatric ward and SCBU and provide dietetic input to relevant MDTs, and support for other Health Professionals in the Royal Surrey and surrounding Healthcare Units.Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential
- BSc in Dietetics or equivalent and registration with HCPC
- Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
- Evidence of post-graduate learning and CPD
Knowledge & ExperienceEssential
- Post-graduate qualification
- Member of the British Dietetics Association
- Membership of specialist groups, e.g. Paediatric, DISC
- Car driver with clean current driving licence
- Evidence of experience in a variety of dietetic cases and situations
- Evidence of MDT work
- Evidence of ability to manage complex clinical presentations
