Our state-of-the-art ward, offering dementia patients with pioneering standards in healthcare delivery and contributing to our elective recovery programme, requires an exceptional Ward Leader with a background/experience/interest in elderly care in to be part of our remarkable team.

Please note we require an experienced Registered Ward Leader/Senior Sister/Senior Charge Nurse with current NMC Registration.

Main duties of the job

To assume responsibility for the designated ward and provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.To lead and develop the nursing team in the care of elderly patients and assist in the development of clinical competencies.To work in a 50:50 split, both clinically on the ward and in a managerial capacity.

Person Specification

Education, qualifications and training

Essential

  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of clinical leadership and management


Desirable

  • Leadership and/or Management course Advanced communication skills training


Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Band 6
  • Experience as a senior nurse with the ability to demonstrate utilisation and facilitation of evidence-based practice.
  • Experience of teaching and assessing in the clinical area.


Desirable

  • Demonstrable experience of collaborative working and service development.
  • Experience of change management and project development.
