Are you an adult, children's or neonatal nurse, with at least one year's clinical experience, looking to diversify into or consolidate your neonatal intensive care nurse career?
We are recruiting for clinically experienced nurses to join our family-centred team.
The neonatal unit at Royal London hospital aims to provide a safe, high quality and family-centred environment, which meets the holistic needs of the neonate and families in our care.
It is a level 3 Tertiary unit providing care for babies born at 23 weeks and above. Cooling, ROP service and specialist surgeries for East London and South Essex for any gestation aged neonate are a few of the services we provide.
We have capacity for 37 cots comprising of 11 intensive care cots, 12 high dependency cots and 14 special care costs. There are also 6 transitional care bedrooms where parents can stay with their baby, which is known as 'rooming in,' before they are discharged home.
Main duties of the job
Our Central delivery suite manages approximately 5,000- 6,000 deliveries per year, with a 10-15 per cent admission rate. As a level 3 unit we also receive babies from other level 1 and level 2 units for medical and surgical escalation of care.
We have a dedicated education team comprising of two practice development facilitators and two clinical practice development facilitators.
