We have a unique opportunity for a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist who is passionate about the specialism of neurorehabilitation (NR) to join the AHP team within 'Manchester Centre of Clinical Neurosciences' (MCCN), based at Salford.
The post holder will be supported by the neurorehabilitation SLT team and Lead 8a SLT to further develop excellent clinical expertise and leadership skills across the neurorehabilitation pathway of care, whilst working within the Level 1 hyperacute and acute neurorehabilitation wards (C2 and L1) at Salford, and the Level 2 post-acute unit in Rochdale (Floyd Unit). The post is full time and permanent. The rotation across the sites is ideal for those who are keen to challenge and develop their clinical skills in a variety of settings.
Therefore, some previous experience of assessment and management of 'Prolonged Disorder of Consciousness' (PDOC) and complex 'Cognitive Communication Disorder' (CCD) will be desirable.
You will be joining a warm and friendly MDT who work closely together and be responsible for the provision of highly specialist SLT neurorehabilitation provision.
We are committed to CPD and developing our staff, you will take an active role in project work and service development.
Our team have a focus on staff well-being and there are opportunities to be involved in non-clinical service development and projects.

Main duties of the job
To provide a flexible and highly specialist SLT service to adults with a range of neurological conditions based within the Greater Manchester neurorehabilitation services based at Salford Royal and the Floyd Unit.
To be an integral member of the integrated multidisciplinary team and to contribute and lead the development of individual patient care plans.
To work in collaboration with the neurorehabilitation Band 8A SLT to achieve the MCCN vision to: deliver innovation continuous improvement and ensure high quality effective evidence based care is provided.
To have responsibility for the day-to-day service delivery of SLT for the Level 1 and Level 2 Neurorehabilitation service, promote the review and planning of the service, and provision of education and support to junior members of the team including, qualified SLT's, students and rehab assistants.

- Completion of degree/ masters in Speech & Language Therapy
- Completion of Post Basic Training in Dysphagia
- Evidence of Successful Completion of Highly Specialist Relevant short Courses

- Completion of Video Fluoroscopy Competencies.
