The Division of Specialist Medicine at North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) is currently seeking a driven and ambitious individual to join the Directorate of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. With a dynamic and passionate team of clinical staff, nursing teams, healthcare scientists, other healthcare professionals and operational colleagues, the Directorate comprises of a varied and complex portfolio of clinical services. This is a brand-new and exciting role with day-to-day operational management responsibilities for the Sleep Service and Respiratory and Sleep Diagnostic Services within the hospital and within the new North Manchester Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), both in the heart of North Manchester.

Reporting to the Directorate Manager and with line management responsibility for the Business Support Manager, you will hold operational responsibility for the development, operational management and performance management of the Sleep Service and Respiratory Physiology diagnostic services. With this responsibility comes the opportunity to work closely with innovative clinical leaders and clinical service managers to implement service improvements, achieve strategic goals and deliver quality led services to the local population and beyond. Main duties of the job

Main duties of the role include day to day oversight of performance, financial management, HR and leadership responsibilities, direct involvement with clinical governance processes, such as complaints, incidents, and risk management and overall operational management. This involves supporting the delivery of operational performance targets, working alongside our senior clinical sleep & respiratory physiologists, to manage/reduce diagnostic wait times, ensure appropriate access to services, enhance patient pathways and improve building relationships within our newly developed community diagnostic centre and implementing process/service improvement as required.

The post holder will work closely with the Directorate Manager and wider team to support the efficient and effective management of the Directorate with the aim to deliver improved performance, promote quality improvement and lead on specific projects and business developments. There are exciting opportunities to work alongside Clinical Leads and Clinical Directors to develop strategic plans and be involved in the business case processes, ensuring you're working towards Divisional and Hospital Strategic plans, objectives and targets.
