An opportunity has arisen for a Specialty Doctor to join the team in secure care and offender health, working within the community based forensic outreach and liaison service, known as the FIRST team. The appointed person will work under the supervision of a consultant forensic psychiatrist, within a multidisciplinary clinical team, to provide person-centred, recovery based forensic mental health care, primarily for adult men in the community.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and the ability to work within a team, as well as being able to work in a flexible way with service users who have a range of complex needs. There are opportunities for continuing professional development, audit, research and teaching.
Main duties of the job
The successful individual will have full registration with the General Medical Council and substantial experience of clinical psychiatry. Experience of working in secure settings or with offenders would be ideal, but is not essential as supervision and training will be provided as necessary.
