Consultant Clinical Psychologist Band 8c
In line with recommendations from the ongoing Cass Review, we are recruiting to part time sessions, in order for staff to maintain a broad clinical perspective by working across related services within other secondary and tertiary centres. It is expected that staff members will therefore work across at least one other clinical specialism area, in addition to this role within the gender service.

We are seeking skilled and compassionate individuals to join the new NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service (London) in the role of Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
In conjunction with the Clinical Lead, postholders will provide leadership to manage and plan the delivery of a highly specialist psychology and psychotherapy service to the NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service (London), and personally provide expert clinical input.
Postholders will be responsible to the Clinical Lead for the monitoring and implementation of professional standards in the practice of applied psychology and psychotherapy in the Service and for the systematic and effective provision of professional supervision, governance and quality of the service.

A new clinical pathway has been developed, based on the recommendations of The Cass Review Interim Report, the NHS England interim service specification, and the expertise of many clinicians from across the Northern and Southern Hubs. The service will be delivered by a wide multi-disciplinary team including paediatricians, mental health practitioners, youth workers, nurses, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists. Who patients see will be dependent on the support and care they need.
Children and young people will receive an in-depth assessment of their needs,and a care plan will be developed with them and, if needed, those supporting them. Children and young people may be offered a range of care interventions such astherapy, family therapy,physical healthsupport, or mental health supportfor any identified difficulties they may want help with. Theteam will also liaise with health professionals in local services nearer to the child or young person.
It is expected that the NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service will continue to change and evolve as more learning, research and evidence is developed in this area, and therefore we would encourage applications from individuals with a passion for service improvement, audit and research.About us

The Southern Hub, based in London, is delivered by a partnership of Evelina London Children's Hospital (part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust), Great Ormond Street Hospital and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
The Northern Hub is delivered by a partnershipof Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust). This role is based in the Southern Hub.

- oEntry-level qualification in Applied Psychology (professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level additional training) that has been accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration. -Clinical psychologist: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent -Counselling psychologist: Doctorate, or MSc and PG Diploma in Counselling Psychology
- oAdditional training beyond entry-level qualification in a specialised area of psychological practice (e.g. in an area of clinical practice relevant to the service CBT, DBT, Specialist assessment) through formal post-qualification training (PG Diploma or equivalent), OR a combination of specialist short courses and/or an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice-based learning in a specialist area of clinical practice, assessed by a BPS National Assessor and an experienced clinical supervisor to be of equal level to a Postgraduate Diploma or higher.
- oCompleted training course in clinical supervision.
- oRegistered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC.

- oPost-qualification experience that supports working with, and addressing issues of, diversity within local communities.
- oExperience of carrying out post-doctoral research, audit or service evaluation projects.
- oExperience of proposing and implementing service development projects that impact beyond own service area.
- oKnowledge of the theory and practice of management and leadership
- oAdvanced knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies for CYP with Gender Diversity
