The division of surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and tenacious manger to fulfil the demanding requirements of this Deputy Operational Service Manager role. The role is fast paced and varied requiring the ability to respond to situations immediately as well as planning for the medium to long term. You will need to be able to quickly assimilate complicated information to make informed decisions. Previous experience of working operationally would be an advantage, but is not a prerequisite.

Main duties of the job
As the Deputy Operational Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading on a number of key performance, operational and quality criteria within this business unit for Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust. The services this role covers are Trauma & Orthopaedics, and Pain.
You will be responsible for monitoring and forecasting demand and capacity, and ensuring patient access issues are identified and resolved promptly. You will provide leadership and operational management to support multiple administrative teams, escalating to the Operational Services Manager (OSM) where appropriate and deputising for them.
