We are looking for a specialist to join our Stroke Practitioner and Specialist Nurse Team. We are seeking someone who is passionate about delivering high quality care to patients whilst empowering them to manage their condition.

We are looking to recruit a qualified band 7 stroke ACP or a band 6 trainee with a view to completing the ACP masters course to become a band 7 stroke ACP

Base Location: Bournemouth - but you may be expected to work across both sites.

Main duties of the job

As the successful candidate you will work within a team across Bournemouth and Poole. Sharing your stroke expertise with colleagues is also an essential part of this post, supporting those with less experience to build their specialist skills.

In addition, supporting the development of the service alongside the Team Leader and Stroke Nurse Practitioner colleagues will be a key part of this role. These developments are in line with national guidelines as well as clinical best practice and will require an innovative approach and working collaboratively with key professionals in the wider team.

If you are a band 6 applying for the band 7 trainee post, you would be fully supported to attend university and complete the course alongside your role over an agreed period of time

The working pattern will include weekend and bank holiday working as part of a shared rota.

• Demonstrable experience in stroke speciality (Minimum 3 years)
• Evidence of managing patients on stroke/TIA and urgent care protocols/pathways

Desirable

• Experience or training in quality improvement ? Evidence of cri

Qualifications

• NMC/HCPC Registered
• Recognised teaching qualification

Knowledge

Essential

• Demonstrable theoretical and practical knowledge of (stroke nursing in an acute setting)
• Conversant with developments in Urgent care and ambulatory emergency care for older people and stroke services at national and local levels
