Oxford ward is a 14 bedded Respiratory Unit looking after all aspects of Non-Invasive Ventilation. We were at the frontline during Covid, looking after patient's with COPD, BIPAP's, CPAP's, Chest Drains etc. As an acute busy area you will learn all aspects of respiratory nursing, also looking after patient's with Cystic Fibrosis and all stepdown patient's from ITU . We see some of our patient's regularly, due to the specialty of the illness and get to know the families and the patient very well.
There will be up to date training opportunities both inhouse and external, with competencies, which is an expectation of the trust for the staff to have in all aspects of relevant patient care. Opportunities also exist for post degree modules through our links with Christchurch University.
We have a very good Multi-Disciplinary aspect to our care and consider the patient discharge in a holistic way. Every member of our team is valued and we have a reputation for being a good, caring team whilst maintaining a friendly atmosphere for the patients. Main duties of the job
To provide effective patient care whilst working as a member of the nursing team across East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT). To ensure the maintenance of high standards of patient care in response to service needs.
The post will require the holder to work on other sites within EKHUFT, in order to meet service requirements and to ensure that staff maintain and develop their skills.
