We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of the team.

As part of the Children and Adults Safeguarding Services you will support the Adult Safeguarding Lead and the Adult Safeguarding Named Nurse in the delivery and monitoring of adult safeguarding procedures within/throughout the MSE Foundation Trust and the provision of specialised advice and expert knowledge to staff, peers, other professionals, multi-agency partners on all aspects of adult safeguarding on designated site.

To assist the Adult Safeguarding Lead, Adult Safeguarding Named Nurse and the Associate Director for Safeguarding to provide assurance to the Children & Adults Safeguarding Committee and the Joint Executive Group, Local Safeguarding Boards and agency partners, that the MSE Group is meeting its statutory duties for the safeguarding of adults at risk.

Participate in the provision of support and supervision to all staff on issues relating to safeguarding adults at risk and to be a role model for safe, competent, and professional practice in relation to the safeguarding of adults at risk.

Main duties of the job

To communicate and share sensitive and complex information with required professional to ensure the adult(s) at risk are safeguarded.

To represent the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust at multiagency adult safeguarding case conferences and when required by the local authorities, provide a health opinion on adult safeguarding cases involving other partner agencies.

To work autonomously to make decisions of the highest complexity with the subject they are leading and to identify and manage associated risks accordingly.

To support the delivery and development of improved performance across all clinical and nonclinical services across the MSE hospital site

To take responsibility for the monitoring of and where necessary, working with service leads to improve upon contractual KPIs relating to their subject matter.

To contribute to ensuring that the service is cost effective.

Build and maintain regular contact with external networks related to role to support own CPD and organizational development.

Provide a support service to operational teams that is responsive to needs and encouraging of ownership and collaboration in the pursuit of organizational values and future sustainability.

Maintain up to date knowledge through attendance at all mandatory training and self-directed learning.

Person Specification

Prove of current nursing registration

Essential

  • Evidence of recent and consistent professional study/development
  • Experience of Multiagency working
  • Recent line Management and Leadership skills
  • Significant experience of working at Band 6 or above with adult patients


Desirable

  • Demonstrate data collection skills, research skills and change management skills
  • Safeguarding Adults Experince
  • Professional Knowledge of MCA and DoLS
  • Experience of developing and delivery training


Qualification and registration

Essential

  • RGN/ RMN/ RNLD
  • Minimum of 2 years Band 6 experience


Desirable

  • Skills/Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults
  • Skills/ Knowledge of MCA and DoLS
