Maintain effective working relationship with other individuals in Financial Management and other officers of the Trust to ensure that work is carried out efficiently, to a high standard, to deliver a professional service focused on achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsible for developing systems to monitor the consistency and quality of the coding of income and expenditure in the ledger.
Identifies when automation will help and uses IT to optimise ways of working and manage repetitive processes.
Deals tactfully and effectively with highly contentious and/or politically sensitive issues of strategic importance to the organisation.

Main duties of the job
As part of our commitment to patients and delivery of a world class service for all we have created the UHCW Improvement (UHCWi) System in partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute in Seattle this involves a structured approach to removing waste and putting the patient first using a lean management system and methodologies.
Lead for the production of the Trust's internal monthly management accounts to support decision making by the Corporate Finance Team.
Lead for the production of revenue sections of monthly Provider Finance In-Year Monitoring Returns (PFR) for reporting the Trust's position externally to NHSE/I and ICB.
Lead for the production of the Integrated Finance Report (IFR).
Manages and reports on reserves, ensuring the correct resources are set aside for developments and that it is accurate and properly managed/accounted for.
Leading Clinical/Core Groups in developing a system for setting budgets in accordance with the Trust's Budget Setting Guidance.

Responsible for ensuring there is an efficient and robust system to document changes to budgets, for approval by the Head of Financial Management. Lead contact for Workforce to ensure that staffing information held in the finance system (Integra) is aligned with Electronic Staff Records (ESR). Lead for responding to Freedom of Information requests on behalf of the Financial Management function. To be a point of contact for requests of data (or Information) for the purposes of internal or external auditors in respect of Management Accounts. Working with the Financial Planning Accountant with the consolidation of Group Plans and reserves into the Trusts annual plan Working with PDO team to ensure WRP reporting is on track and produce reports as required Work closely with financial services department during the Agreement of Balances process to contribute to the Department of Health Consolidated Interim (draft) Accounts Liaises with other departments to ensure that all information is provided on a timely basis Working with the ICB and NHSE regarding reporting requirements.
