We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Dietitian to work in our busy and friendly team providing support to patients under the Gastroenterology service. You will be working as part of the MDT alongside Band 8a, Band 6 Dietitians and Dietetic assistants and will benefit from the support of a team of adminstrative staff.
We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Dietitian who has a wide range of post registration paediatric experience gained in an acute setting. You should also have experience of supervising staff and service development. Experience of managing Paediatric Gastroenterology patients and those on Parenteral Nutrition is desirable but not essential as we will provide training for the right candidate. What is essential is that you have either completed masters module(s) in paediatric Dietetics, or are working at an equivalent level, having gained knowledge and skills through experience, and that you are highly motivated and passionate about working in our Trust and within the Gastroenterology service .
Main duties of the job
To provide a highly specialist and comprehensive Dietetic service to patients under the care of the Gastroenterology service, who require nutritional intervention. This will include creation, implementation and monitoring of specialist feeding plans and therapeutic diets, dietetic and nutritional assessment and biochemical monitoring, education of children, young people and their families, and training and educating HCPs in Paediatric Dietetics. The post holder should continually evaluate outcomes and implement clinical and service changes to optimise outcomes for their patients. They should ensure they are delivering evidence based practice and be responsible for maintain competence, actively seeking and participating in CPD
The post holder will also be responsible for providing clinical leadership and supervision to Band 6 Paediatric Dietitians, Band 3 Assistants and student Dietitians.
