An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic qualified Family Therapist to work in CAMHS 'Community Health & Well-Being Service (CHeWS)' within the London Borough of Bexley.
The Borough serves a diverse population & the role is to support the continuing development of this team of community outreach CAMHS professionals, introduced in 2016 as part of Future in Mind transformation plans. Our vision is to create an integrated team moving away from service delivery based on traditional organisational/professional structures, but comes together to offer more joined up care pathways for children, young people & their families. We believe this will enhance the early identification of need & facilitate children & young people being able to access the right support at the right time.
Bexley CAMHS is a friendly, busy & thriving CYP IAPT service, regarded as an accessible & effective service. Oxleas provides mental health, learning disabilities & community services to the London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley & Greenwich. The Trust & CAMHS have recently been rated as Good by the CQC & has a culture of supporting staff, whilst providing excellent services within a robust clinical governance framework. The child & adolescent systemic psychotherapy discipline is well regarded within the Trust & offers excellent CPD opportunities.
Main duties of the job
The post is open to a systemic psychotherapist with a Masters/Doctorate qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy, or equivalent & UKCP Registration.
The post holder will work in an outreach capacity from Bexley CAMHS, providing specialist mental health advice, consultation (mainly in schools) and training to the network of community children's services and evidence-based, outcomes focussed interventions to children and young people with emerging mental health difficulties. The role will be to provide timely advice to facilitate early identification, support community resilience / offer self-help and management strategies, referral, joint assessments and co-working. These posts will work collaboratively with other school based services.
You will also undertake a range of CAMH assessments and evidence based systemic interventions with a commitment to CYP-IAPT Principles. You will have the opportunity to be part of a Family Therapy Clinic and will also be part of a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of CAMH is desirable. You'll be supervised and supported by a Senior Family Therapist from within the service.
