A rare opportunity has arisen for experienced nurses to join our OPAT service here at UHNM. A permanent post is available and are looking to recruit someone with excellent clinical and communication skills who enjoys the challenges of working within a busy and responsive service.

The Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) Team provides a service that facilitates early discharge of medically stable patients with continued intravenous antibiotics who would otherwise have to remain in hospital. Our aim is to provide patients with the same high quality care but as an out-patient so that patients are able to leave hospital at the earliest opportunity and still receive their treatment.

Main duties of the job

As an ideal candidate you will be proficient in cannulation and blood taking skills and have an excellent working knowledge around anti-microbial stewardship including the treatment and administration procedure. You will also have completed (or be working towards) a Physical assessment course and non-medical prescribing course.
