An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and dynamic individuals to join our cancer services team as MacmillanNurse Specialists supporting the Haematology MDT,at our St. Richard's Hospital site in Chichester.
This is 18.75 hours per week - 0.5 WTE /week and is a substantive post.
The Haematology CNS team provides psychological support, expert advice, nursing knowledge and skills to patients and their families/carers and act as a resource to advise, educate and support those involved in the care of patients with haematological conditions.
We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to manage their own caseload, including leading on the provision of Nurse Led Clinics. This post will suit a motivational, organised, empathetic and passionate person who has excellent communication skills.
The post holder will be providing patient support and coordinate care throughout the Leukaemia patient pathway, which includes diagnostics, treatment, symptom control, clinic and inpatient reviews. The post holder will work closely with colleagues across the multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will provide a high degree of professional autonomy and make critical judgements using expect knowledge, skills and experience in order to provide the highest standard of holistic care to blood cancer patients, abiding by local and national guidelines/policies.
This post is based at SRH/ Chichester and has an element of cross site working to follow in-patient care based at Worthing Hospital.

- Registered Nurse with 5 years post qualification experience with at least 2 years at band 6
- At least 3 years experience in cancer care or oncology or haematology oncology
- Educated to degree level/or BSc Hons in relevant subject or evidence of equivalent level of study
- Specialist qualification in haematology or specialist related qualification at BSC/MSc level
- Advanced communications skills training
- Knowledge of cancer pathways or targets or national level policy relevant to speciality
- Previous Chemotherapy administration skills/competencies ( including oral chemotherapy)
Desirable
- Advanced physical assessment module at level 7
- Non-Medical Prescribing course at level 7
- MSc in relevant subject
- Evidence of leadership development and qualification
- L2 psychological assessment training
- Completed Oral Chemotherapy UKONS Passport
