Require an accessible and responsive team member with clinical responsibility for a defined patient groupHepatobiliary and Pancreatic (HPB) .The post holders will be able to make informed decisions within their own area and scope of professional practice to ensure agreed standards, objectives and targets are met. The ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to deal with service users and clinicians. You must be a dynamic flexible individual with advanced IT, administrative and organisational skills, will have experience with surgery or oncology have shown a keen interest in developing your clinical skills and knowledge.

Main duties of the job

  • The post requires an accessible and responsive team member with clinical responsibility for a defined patient group Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic (HPB) patients. The post holder will be able to make informed decisions within their own area and scope of professional practice to ensure agreed standards, objectives and targets are met.
  • Accountable for own actions in accordance with Code of Professional Conduct. Will contribute towards corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times
  • Effective communication skills enabling maintenance of high quality service and ensuring timely management and resolution of unexpected events and situations. Ability to communicate with all members of the multi-professional teams locally, and with referring unit

    Job description

    Job responsibilities

  • Participating in the writing of protocols, guidelines, patient information and documentation required for service review and development
  • Participating in providing training of identified staff groups within defined areas
  • Utilise and ensure others utilise IT systems to secure accurate and timely patient, workforce and resource data available
  • Support patients, carers and staff during difficult situations arising in the clinical area, e.g. breaking bad news or following an unexpected event
  • Participating in clinic preparation and nurse led clinics
  • A knowledgeable team member, supporting staff, service and policy development within a defined area/specialty
  • A supportive resource for staff, advising on national, local and Trust policy and procedures/guidelines, ensuring that clinical governance is embedded in practice
  • Responsible for identifying and assessing complex clinical and non-clinical issues, implementing resolutions and monitoring/auditing outcomes
