Join Our Team of Dedicated Community Nurses in Beautiful West Somerset!
Are you a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) seeking a new opportunity? We havetwo Community Staff Nursepositions available within the West Somerset Community Nursing Team, based at eitherWilliton Community Hospital (TA4 4RA)orMinehead Community Hospital (TA24 6DF). Whichever base you choose the team cross-cover the whole area.
Our service covers the urban and rural areas of West Somerset, from the Quantock Hills to Exmoor. These full-time positions require you to work shifts across 7 days a week, from8am to 10pm, with most shifts falling between 8am and 6pm. You'll also work one twilight shift per week (2-10) and one in four weekends. There areno night shifts. We offer flexible working solutions where possible to ensure a work-life balance.
You'll need to be a car driver with your own vehicle to visit patients.We offer a generous mileage allowance to cover the use of your car for NHS business, which includes both mileage and depreciation. After a qualifying period, you can apply for an NHS lease car through our scheme, with options for salary deduction or sacrifice.

Main duties of the job
As a community RN, you'll provide care to patients in their homes, managing a range of complex health issues and collaborating with various other disciplines. You'll also work closely with the Hospital @ Home team, focused on preventing acute admission. You'll develop a broad range of nursing skills, including IV medication administration, palliative and end-of-life care, complex wound management, catheter and continence care, diabetes management, PICC line care, medication administration, and drain tube management. You'll need to make autonomous clinical decisions and create holistic care plans, with the support of your colleagues and Team Leaders. Comprehensive training and guidance will be provided by our two dedicated Clinical Lead nurses.
