Gynaecology Outpatients cares for patients undergoing a variety of procedures eg. colposcopy, hysteroscopy, emergencies and early pregnancy along with pre- operative and post -operative reviews.
We treat our patients with a multi-professional approach, ensuring that their dignity is at the forefront of the care we provide. We are looking for a registered nurse who is dynamic, enthusiastic and be able to work well under pressure.
Main duties of the job
To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic family centred care to the patients.
To promote patient centred care and establish good relationships with patients and their families or carers.
To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff.
To assist in colposcopy and hysteroscopy procedures, leading the clinic to ensure smooth running ensure that all equipment is available and notes prepared.
To support and work alongside junior staff.

To provide the highest standard of nursing care for the patients
To plan, assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care and to supervise other staff in this activity.
To ensure an ongoing welcoming, caring and safe environment is provided
To act as an advocate for the patients and their families and or carers, providing them with information and support and directing them to the relevant support services where appropriate.
To assist in clinical procedures in colposcopy and hysteroscopy setting departments and ensure clinic running effectively
To develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic, evidence based nursing care. This includes expanded role responsibilities, following appropriate training.
To be competent in the administration of medication
To ensure clinical practice is evidence based or peer reviewed best practice.
To use the Patient Administration System (PAS) in accordance with Trust policy and procedure.
