An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 7 Project Manager within the Women's Service line in CNWL's Health & Justice Service to review the needs & provisions for pregnant women & birthing people in prison.

The role will be primarily based at HMP Bronzefield but there will be an expectation that the post holder will also be on site at HMP Send & HMP Downview as well as remote working as necessary.

The post holder will undertake a full, detained setting, maternity service review, mapping current provision to the required standards. They will act as a conduit to facilitate the transformation of maternity care delivery to ensure that care is individualised, trauma informed & reflective of service user needs. They will fully implement, embed & review the service specification for the care of women who are pregnant or post-natal in detained settings. There will be a shared vision by all agencies, to pioneer a service which is recognised as gold standard & the epitome of maternity care for women & birthing people in detained settings.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for mapping out the health needs across all three sites for maternity provision completing a health needs analysis of provision including perinatal mental health and health visiting. This transformation project will ensure that the following is not only implemented but fully embedded, monitored and evaluated:
  • Detailed gap analysis of the service specification for the care of women who are pregnant or post-natal in detained settings.
  • Recommendations made by the Women's Review
  • The NHSE service specification for the care of women who are pregnant or post-natal in detained settings provides the much-awaited benchmark for maternity service delivery in prison.
  • Baby A and Baby B recommendations across all three sites
  • Appropriate care pathways across maternity, perinatal mental health and health visitor services
  • Review and implement joined up digital / IT services across partner agencies

Person Specification

EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • oEducated to a degree level or equivalent experience


Desirable

  • oFormal project management qualification or experience to equivalent level (e.g. PRINCE2)


PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • oExperience of project management and strategic service development in a complex organisation
  • oExperience of managing projects in complex organisational environments
  • oExperience of Microsoft Office software
  • oTrack record of meeting deadlines


Desirable

  • oGood working knowledge of the wider NHS agenda including sound understanding of NHS targets and national initiatives


SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE

Desirable

  • oUnderstanding of the existing NHS landscape, in particular knowledge of criminal justice system
