An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Fletcher ward.
On the Fletcher ward we support patients that may be admitted informally or detained under a section of the Mental Health Act. Patients may need intensive assessment and immediate intervention. Service users will only receive treatment on Fletcher Ward if their mental health condition cannot be safely managed in their own home, or with support from our community teams.
On Fletcher ward we aim to provide a holistic approach to recovery and rehabilitation within a safe environment. We value positive risk taking to enable clients to move forward with their lives and promote recovery. We aim to provide person-centred care in every aspect of our role and promote patient involvement in their care and treatment plans.Within the Fletcher team, we all try to listen calmly, respectfully, and patiently to others and treat everyone in a kind courteous manner. We will all try to be open and honest and work together to promote positive change and recovery.
Fletcher ward is a busy environment, and the needs of each individual cannot always be met instantly but should be met in a timely manner. The safety of the staff and patients here is the team's priority.
Main duties of the job
Fletcher ward is a busy 18 bedded acute mental heath admission unit for the east of the county based in Bodmin Hospital.
This exciting opportunity focuses on clinical leadership and developing and maintaining high quality care within a ward environment . The successful applicants will lead on PIPA , support and mentor learners and provide supervision to others as well as providing high levels of clinical care
Working alongside the senior staff nurses the posts enable the successful applicants to act as experienced role models and leaders to junior colleagues but also to develop leadership and managerial skills and enhance their career in mental health . We will support the successful applicant in accessing experiential learning and training .
This is a post that require a high degree of resilience , motivation and commitment and a willingness to help manage team to deliver high quality patient care through being an effective role model.
