Better Lives has an exciting opportunity for A Senior Peer Coach (SPC), an experienced Peer Coach who has lived experienced of mental health and/or substance misuse difficulties and treatment, to join our team. The SPC will provide recovery oriented clinical advice and support to other Peer Coaches as well as attending key meetings as needed.
Within Better Lives Substance Misuse Service, for around half their time the post holder will be involved in the development and delivery of a structured Day Programme. As part of the programme, the SPC will conduct individual and group interventions, based on evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Structured Clinical Management (SCM). Training in these approaches will be provided.
Other roles within the programme will include reviewing care plans and conducting risk assessments. The SPC will work alongside the Consultant, Associate and trainee Psychologists, as well as other colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, and will help develop an apprentice peer coach role,
If you are committed to coproduction of outcomes for service users, have personal experience of substance misuse or/and treatment. Have experience of supporting others to develop recovery plans and goal and and have completed a local Peer Worker training or equivalent experience/training we would welcome you application
Main duties of the job
With support from the psychology team. Provide recovery oriented clinical input. Identify risk issues related to new or existing service users presentation. To assist peer coaches to reflect on how to provide , create and deliver a range of peer support activities and care planning to their clients.
The post holder will be involved in the development and delivery of a structured day programme and individual interventions. reviewing of care plans and risk assessment. Work along side the Clinical Assistant Psychologist as well as other colleagues within the Multi Disciplinary team.
Ensure effective and confidential communication between professionals and service users. Maintain confidentiality with regard to any information concerning service users or colleagues that is of a confidential nature
