Are you a Registered Adult, Registered Paediatric or Registered Mental Health Nurse passionate about the holistic care of young people and looking to develop your leadership skills? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated professional to join our T12 South nursing and senior leadership teams in our Childrens and Young Peoples Division. T12 South is the largest multi-speciality unit leading the way in adolescent care in the UK.

Main duties of the job

    • T12 South consists of 16 beds, providing inpatient and day case care to children aged 13- 19 years.
    • We care for young people with a variety of complex medical and surgical conditions
    • We have a dedicated multi-disciplinary team to support our young people with their physical and mental health needs

    This post offers huge potential for further developing your clinical, leadership and management skills. You will be an integral part if the expert multidisciplinary team working closely together to deliver high quality adolescent care. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership and engage in service development, quality improvement and leading change, to shape our CYP services for the future.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Qualifications


  • Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register (Adult or Paediatric)
  • Completed or working towards MSc or equivalent


  • Relevant teaching course
  • Leadership / management development programme



  • Minimum 4 years relevant clinical and managerial experience
  • Relevant leadership experience
  • Experience and knowledge of research, audit, Exemplar Ward' activity


  • Experience and knowledge of CYP safeguarding and mental health provision

Communication and Information Processing


  • Communicates effectively verbally, in writing and in electronic formats

Personal And People Development


  • Demonstrates evidence of professional development in line with KSF, maintains updated Portfolio
  • Is able to act as a specialist nursing resource / practice educator or supervisor in line with local needs

Service Improvement and Quality


  • Able to deliver evidence-based practice
  • Demonstrates understanding of principles of Clinical Governance, e.g. Risk Management, audit & quality

Assessment and Care Planning to Meet Health and Wellbeing Needs


  • Acts on own initiative and problem-solves utilising resources available
